Our Approach to Life Sciences Investments
Apposite invests in all areas of Life Sciences. Our emphasis is on biotechnology companies developing new therapeutics and novel technologies applicable to therapeutic products. We take a global view and can invest anywhere in the world but have a particular focus on the US and Europe.
The Life Sciences team invests across stages of venture capital from early stage to later stage and has strong experience leading corporate spin-outs. We typically act as lead investor and make investments from $15–25 million in a company with an initial commitment of $5–15 million.
Apposite is committed to adding value to its portfolio companies and work closely with management. We seek direct board representation to play an active role in guiding and driving company development. We leverage all our experience and know-how and especially our extensive network of contacts. This is particularly true of Japan where we have long standing and strong relationships to key decision makers within the pharmaceutical industry.
